The power of the blood of Jesus on the city of my soul.

Building up your inner man

Now lets pray and prophesy over the city of my soul.

Its walls shall fall, its bars of iron shall be cut and its gates shall be broken to pieces. Its altars shall be destroyed, the carved images of its gods shall be cut down, its sacred pillars and wooden images shall be broken. The name of the enemy shall be destroyed from every place in it and his high places shall be removed. Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth.

The altar of God shall be built, the walls shall be built and the doors hung. The ruined and desolate places shall be built and the dessert shall blossom. And Christ shall be formed in me. And the city of my soul, Jerusalem, shall be the city of the Great King.

Its walls shall fall, its bars of iron shall be cut and its gates shall be broken to pieces.

Isaiah 45:2

“I will go before you and make the rough places smooth;
I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars.

Its altars shall be destroyed, the carved images of its gods shall be cut down, its sacred pillars and wooden images shall be broken.

Deuteronomy 7:5

But thus you shall do to them: you shall tear down their altars, and smash their sacred pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire.

Deuteronomy 12:3

You shall tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars and burn their Asherim with fire, and you shall cut down the engraved images of their gods and obliterate their name from that place.

The name of the enemy shall be destroyed from every place in it

Deuteronomy 12:3

You shall tear down their altars and smash their sacred pillars and burn their Asherim with fire, and you shall cut down the engraved images of their gods and obliterate their name from that place.

and his high places shall be removed

Then I said to them, ‘What is the high place to which you go?’ So its name is called Bamah to this day.”’

He took great pride in the ways of the Lord and again removed the high places and the Asherim from Judah.

2 Chronicles 20:33

The high places, however, were not removed; the people had not yet directed their hearts to the God of their fathers.

Every valley shall be exalted and every mountain and hill brought low; the crooked places shall be made straight and the rough places smooth.

Isaiah 40:4

“Let every valley be lifted up,
And every mountain and hill be made low;
And let the rough ground become a plain,
And the rugged terrain a broad valley;

And every mountain and hill will be [a]brought low;
The crooked will become straight,
And the rough roads smooth;

The altar of God shall be built, the walls shall be built and the doors hung.

Ezra 3

Altar and Sacrifices Restored

3 Now when the seventh month came, and the sons of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered together as one man to Jerusalem. Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak and his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brothers arose and built the altar of the God of Israel to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses, the man of God. So they set up the altar on its foundation, for they were terrified because of the peoples of the lands; and they offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord, burnt offerings morning and evening. They celebrated the Feast of Booths, as it is written, and offered the fixed number of burnt offerings daily, according to the ordinance, as each day required; and afterward there was a continual burnt offering, also for the new moons and for all the fixed festivals of the Lord that were consecrated, and from everyone who offered a freewill offering to the Lord. From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the Lord, but the foundation of the temple of the Lord had not been laid. Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and food, drink and oil to the Sidonians and to the Tyrians, to bring cedar wood from Lebanon to the sea at Joppa, according to the permission they had from Cyrus king of Persia.

Temple Restoration Begun

Now in the second year of their coming to the house of God at Jerusalem in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all who came from the captivity to Jerusalem, began the work and appointed the Levites from twenty years and older to oversee the work of the house of the Lord. Then Jeshua with his sons and brothers stood united with Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah and the sons of Henadad with their sons and brothers the Levites, to oversee the workmen in the temple of God.

10 Now when the builders had laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord according to the directions of King David of Israel. 11 They sang, praising and giving thanks to the Lord, saying, “For He is good, for His lovingkindness is upon Israel forever.” And all the people shouted with a great shout when they praised the Lord because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. 12 Yet many of the priests and Levites and heads of fathers’ households, the old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, while many shouted aloud for joy, 13 so that the people could not distinguish the sound of the shout of joy from the sound of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard far away.

Nehemiah 3

Nehemiah 7:1-3

7 Now when the wall was rebuilt and I had set up the doors, and the gatekeepers and the singers and the Levites were appointed, then I put Hanani my brother, and Hananiah the commander of the fortress, in charge of Jerusalem, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many. Then I said to them, “Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot, and while they are standing guard, let them shut and bolt the doors. Also appoint guards from the inhabitants of Jerusalem, each at his post, and each in front of his own house.”

The ruined and desolate places shall be built and the dessert shall blossom.

Isaiah 35:1-2

Zion’s Happy Future

35 The wilderness and the desert will be glad,
And the Arabah will rejoice and blossom;
Like the crocus
It will blossom profusely
And rejoice with rejoicing and shout of joy.
The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,
The majesty of Carmel and Sharon.
They will see the glory of the Lord,
The majesty of our God.

Ezekiel 36:34-36

34 The desolate land will be cultivated instead of being a desolation in the sight of everyone who passes by. 35 They will say, ‘This desolate land has become like the garden of Eden; and the waste, desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited.’ 36 Then the nations that are left round about you will know that I, the Lord, have rebuilt the ruined places and planted that which was desolate; I, the Lord, have spoken and will do it.”
